Hi, there is a position open in my group at the moment:
Post-Doctoral Researcher – Institute of Biotechnology
Macromolecular Structures Group.
Salary: € 2,700 – 3,600/month depending on qualifications and experience.
Full-Time, Fixed-Term 24 month appointment (with possibility for renewal up to 48 months).
Working in a small team, you will be involved in the understanding of host-pathogen interactions in gram-negative bacteria, and on understanding the mechanism of export of trimeric autotransporter adhesins.
The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant branch of science. We are looking for someone with experience either in microbiology and protein production, cell culture, and biochemical interaction analysis, or in structural determination of macromolecules by any of the standard techniques (x-ray, nmr, em). A knowledge of modern fluorescence microscopy techniques or phage display would also be a plus. The ability to communicate effectively in English is essential.
The postholder should have the following:-
• Experience in protein production in both bacterial and eukaryotic systems.
• Biochemistry and interaction analysis skills and/or experience in solving structures
• Well-developed research skills and ability to present results both orally and in writing
If you are interested in applying, please send your c.v. and publication list, with a personal motivation letter and the names of two referees to adrian.goldman@helsinki.fi.
