Colloid and interface science is an interdisciplinary field that embraces many scientific disciplines from nanoscience, physics and chemistry to biology, environmental science and medicine.
We have the pleasure to invite you to the 26th Conference of the European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS). The conference will be jointly organized by Lund University and Malmö University and will take place in Malmö, Sweden on 2-7 September 2012. The Conference will explore recent advances in fundamental and applied surface and colloid science. Special emphasis will be placed on the support of young scientists. The conference venue “Slagthuset” is situated near the central station in Malmö, only 20 min train trip away from the Copenhagen airport.
The deadline for abstract submission is April 20th 2012.

In addition, a symposium honouring one of the founding fathers of ECIS, Professor Björn Lindman, Outlooks from strong traditions in colloid and interface science, will be held on Friday 7 September.
We are also happy to announce a Pre-conference ECIS Training Course on “Thermodynamics and calorimetry of colloidal and biomolecular systems”. The course is planned to be held on Saturday/Sunday (September 1-2, 2012) at Malmö University. Note, due to its character we have only a limited number of participants for this course. A combined fee for both events, the course and the ECIS conference, will be available for students and regular participants. Detailed information is available on the conference website:
