The enzyme serves as a model for the @lavin-‐mediated, enzyme-‐ catalyzed oxidation of alcohols. Possibilities to expand the research interests to other @lavin-‐dependent enzymes, such as nitronate monooxygenase, glycolate oxidase, D-‐arginine dehydrogenase and others are also available.
